Worrying about driving through winter weather? Luckily, we’ll share some winter driving checklist for a safe winter road trip, including: car battery, antifreeze, wiper blades and breakdown membership.

Car Battery
The RAC attends more call-outs for batteries than any other problem. During February 2012 we went to more than 50,000 battery-related call-outs. Remember, if your car has not been used for a period of time, the battery may need charging before you come to use it. The RAC Shop stocks a range of battery chargers and battery testing devices. Antifreeze
Check coolant level regularly and, if required, top-up with a mixture of the correct type of antifreeze. Your garage should check concentration to ensure adequate cold temperature protection. Source:  Theaa

Wiper Blades
Visibility is never more crucial than during winter, and old wiper blades won’t cut it. Forget tricks like cleaning them with vinegar; just replace them. The Best Buy in our wiper blades test was Bosch’s AeroTwin. Source: Autoexpress.co.uk

Breakdown Membership
Before a journey, make sure you:

Have your breakdown membership details and contact telephone in your purse, wallet, or handbag. It’s useful to store this number in your mobile phone.

Carry a few extra items with you on winter journeys: gloves, a blanket, a small shovel, a torch and some cash could all prove very useful. Source: MotoringAssist
